Novel assignment

The  round characters in my novel are

Jamie,Awasin and the flat characters are Denikazi I think is what he used genius character really well. He explains him very well. You can almost feel what Jamie’s feeling about because he’s there a lot of bad and sad times. I think when the boys fell off the cliff I believe that they work together to accomplish and help each other out and realize what position they were in and took action. I believe the author chose to do this because doing this starts the story and adventure. I think if the story what is going to happen next is that they are going to meet up with their leader or find Eskimos and get into a fight.

My video post

The movie that I am choosing is 21 and over. The reason why is because it has a good meaning. Although it is inappropriate it has a fairly decent meaning. The meaning is your old friends are always your best friend. So never leave them behind. Because they’ll always have your back. Just like in the movie when they leave one of their friends behind bad things start happening to them. And I have to go find their friend.

God’s choice poems

Oh Josh
Oh Josh his nose was always runny. And yes it was sometimes funny. Although he likes to score. On time he never does his one and only chore

Nick and Rick
I have a friend named Nick. And his best friend is named rick. Who also likes to pick at his tick.

Looking Cool In Football
Football is a very awesome game. Because there is a lot of contact. You and you are allowed to look cool by wearing visors. Especially tinted visors.

My favorite poems or free verse poems because they don’t have to rhyme or have anything to it it’s just saying stuff. They’re my favorite because sometimes I have a lot of meaning. That’s why free verse poems are my favorite.

Book report

Woods Runner

By Gary Paulsen

Welcome to my book talk.  Today I’m going to talk about the book Woods Runner by Gary Paulsen.  I chose this book because I really like history around the Revolutionary War and the war of 1812.  So that’s why I chose this book.  Overall I thought this book was very good.  I would rate this book a 9/10 because it was very well written.

First I’m going to talk about the characters in the story.  First there is Samuel. Samuel is the main character of the story.  Samuel is a 13-year-old boy who loves the woods.  But at the starting of the Revolutionary War his parents are captured and his house is burned down.  He has nothing left.  The only thing he can do is try to save his parents so this is what he tries to do in the book.  The second character is Annie Clark.  Annie Clark is a young 10-year-old girl whose parents were viciously murdered by German assassins during the Revolutionary war.  Unfortunately she has nothing left and her house is burned down in the process.  Samuel sees this happen and he decides to help Annie.  The third characters are Samuel’s parents. It never tells the names of them in the story though, which I found kind of weird.  They’re very nice people. In the story the author doesn’t really describe them that much.  The next character is a Scottish man named Abner. He is very nice and kind and has a long beard with tobacco juice all over it because he chews chewing tobacco all the time. It’s pretty disgusting because Gary Paulsen explains his beard so well in the story.  So now that we got the characters by I can start my book talk.

In this story I felt like the characters really spoke to me.  The way they talked sounded like they were from Pennsylvania.  Their accents and everything sounded Pennsylvanian.  It sounded like they were almost real.  In this book I like Samuel the best because he was the main character and also he reminds me of myself because he’s is the same age as me and his birthday is on July 26 two days after my birthday.  This book is very realistic to the real world.  It had lots of facts and information about the Revolutionary War.  I think the author wrote this book to say that war is not a good thing and with these actions there are some consequences.  This book really gets your heart when he describes the men and women of war and the casualties of war.  Gary Paulsen is a great author and describes these very well.  I think he really wants to get in people’s heads and try to say that everyone in war was affected not just the soldiers but the families and friends and animals as well are affected by war.  Everything is just death, a thick black cloud, dark times–just death. Nothing else.

My favorite part about this book is when Samuel gets his parents out alive near the end of the book.  It was when they were crossing the Hudson River on Matthew’s boat and then when they got out of the boat Samuel hit one of the British guards over the head with a brick. Because after everything that he went through he could just not be stopped and he deserves to find his parents.

This book is very good and I really enjoyed reading this book .It made me ask a lot of questions and want to read more of the book when I started to stop reading.  It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole book thinking what’s going to happen next.  Is Samuel going to get out of the situation? Can he find his parents?  All those questions I kept asking myself and it only happens right at the end so always keep your hopes up if you read the story.  So that’s the end. I hope you really enjoyed me talking about this wonderful, fantastic but dark book.

My video

Hello everyone I made a video of 2012 in 60 seconds.  I hope you like it as much as I do.  I think you might learn a couple things this year and if you watch my video you might learn a couple more.  I think the most important that happened this year is hurricane sandy.  Hurricane sandy was just horrible.  Many lives were lost.  It was really bad.  Overall hurricane sandy was just a disaster no one was expecting that was the bad thing.  A lot of people lost their homes because of flooding.  Overall I think hurricane sandy was the worst.
